Week 12A: Using Other Online Tools

For my type of business (clothing) I believe the best online marketing tools I can use that will help me grow are Twitter and Pinterest. Twitter has a younger audience and is Facebook for the younger generation. Pinterest is something that would help with having a place to showcase our products.

As far as twitter goes I could easily use a lot of the content I already have for Facebook and use it for twitter as well. It is also a great way to interact with customers and a platform that would allow for more informal interactions. I have seen many companies have their Instagram where they become known but twitter becomes that place where people see more about the person behind the brand and are able to interact rather than just seeing photos and videos.

Pinterest would be something quick to post product shots and outfit ideas for people who are more invested in the brand. It is also an easy way to get your store out there because if someone sees an outfit they like they can't purchase it or really see anything besides the picture unless they click on the link that is in the picture. That link can go to your store, Instagram, Facebook, blog, etc. Overall giving you more traffic and increasing your chances of gaining a new customer.

One of the most frustrating times I ever had when trying to purchase a product was just a little over a year ago. I wanted to buy myself a new phone for my birthday, I had gone into the store previously and a worker told me that I could get a better deal if I called and ordered one through the phone. Week 16B: Planning Your Future Strategy & Wrapping up the Class

As we close out this semester to remember I can certainly say I've gained new knowledge form this class!  To begin with, I wanted to take this class because I do plan on starting a business in the future and I know how important it is to use social media effectively to help your business progress. As surprising as it is to many I'm a Gen Z with no social media. For my personal life, I never saw social media as something that was necessary but rather a big distraction for me. However, throughout my college career, I have been reminded of how essential it is to incorporate it into the marketing mix of your business. I don't think I will ever be into using social media for my personal life I can proudly say that I have changed the way I view it. With so many people nowadays making a living off of social media they still have a brand whether the brand is their face or a product/service.
