Week 5B: Defining Your Target Market

For this class, I will be using a fictitious clothing boutique named GVBY.

DEMOGRAPHICS:

“GVBY” will be marketed primarily towards female consumers from 17-25 in the United States. Because “GVBY” aims to market itself as a high-quality low-cost clothing boutique. The target audience will be younger females who are most likely in school and don’t make a lot of money since these are the customers who are most likely to be looking for an online clothing store where they can try the latest trends at a low price, without having to worry about spending hundreds of dollars to look stylish.

PSYCHOGRAPHICS:

Because of our commitment to providing the highest quality clothes for the lowest, we will be supplying our store with smaller brands which will allow us to not have to raise prices due to the name brand. That is why our consumers will consist of people who care about the way they dress, but quality and look is a higher concern then the brand. Young women who are confident and take pride in appearance.

Knowing these things will be beneficial in the coming week when figuring out the main social media site we want to use to promote our company. This will also help us know how we can promote it. Do we have to be formal or will informal words work? Should we take advantage of stories or is that something that works better for others. How many times should we post and how frequently?
