Week 13A: Online Advertising - Analysis of the Marketplace

What draws my attention the most when it comes to sponsored posts are when they're organic and not overly promotional. Their call to actions usually include things like "shop now", "sign up", "try blank product", "watch", etc. A few post use imagery mainly when they are describing some skincare, makeup, or clothing products. Making it more appealing to potential consumers by describing it in a way that will make you want to purchase the product. The most annoying adds I always see are weight loss ones, they are very rarely true and make people think unhealthy weight loss products are ideal for everyday life. When you do click on those links they are directed to sketchy looking websites where all they have is images from Instagram posts where someone lost 30 pounds in 2 weeks which is not realistic at all.
Depending on your brand and how big your company is would be a determination for me when looking at whether to use traditional advertising or social media advertising. Traditional advertising is good for companies that want to reach a large and broad audience. However, that also comes with a big price that most small businesses are not able to spend on advertising. That is why I think social media advertising is a much better way to go. You get to display an add while linking your products, profile, website, etc. All in one space.
